Month Two of Insanity Workout Review
Interested in what to expect during month two of the 60-day Insanity Workout? Review any number of p90x reviews or an Insanity Workout review to see that the workouts go from intense to crazy intense. This program is awesome for those that love a challenge. Shaun T. the mastermind behind the program is a great motivator throughout the entire 10 DVD set.
Before jumping into month two there is a one-week recovery period. This doesn’t mean sitting on the couch. There is a recovery DVD to follow. Recovery is followed by another fit test. These are great to see where progressions have been made.
Month two has its warm-up periods as well. These are not ordinary warm-ups with light yoga-like stretching. The warm-up periods last for about 10 minutes apiece and amp up the heart rate in preparation of what’s to come next. Month two warm-ups are more difficult than the first months.
Month two is designed for pushing the limits even harder. This means pushing yourself to do more reps. There are a ton of power jacks, switch kicks, power jumps, power knees, suicide jumps, globe jumps, lo-plank obliques, and push-up jacks to keep the heart rate flying and the sweat pouring. It seems like every muscle and part of the body from the mind, torso, and calves are worked.
Month two is where the results really start to pour in. Anyone who thought month one was hard should wait until they pop in the first DVD for the second set of 30 days. The max interval circuit training is introduced and this is really designed to kick some butt and it does. There may be a need to pause the DVD a few times at first – this is how intense the training is.
Compared to the first 30 days of the 60-day interval training, workouts last longer. By this point it’s easier to keep up with the pace and workout a little harder and a little longer. Most workout sessions last about 60 minutes each compared to 45 minutes from month one.
Month two is related to the first month in many ways but much more extreme – kind of what’s expected. The workouts consist of a lot of cardio conditioning at crazy high intensity levels. There are also a lot of pylometrics involved. The second series of DVDs really introduces what max interval training is all about. These DVDs are nothing like a majority of the other at home workouts available.
By the end of month two the muscle definition is definitely there. Stomach flab and love handles are replaced with noticeable ab definition and in some cases six packs. The entire torso, arms, and legs are well defined as well.
